About the Creator
Graded Card Guards was founded by Andy Chan, an Australian collector with a deep passion for protecting valuable graded cards. His journey back into collecting began during the COVID-19 lockdowns, when his mum handed him his old card binder filled with Pokémon cards from when the franchise first launched in 1996. It was a nostalgic moment that reignited his love for the hobby. During this time, Andy sent his very first card to be graded, and the excitement of receiving those submissions back fueled his passion even further.
From there, Andy's love for collecting only grew. He began creating graphic designs and AMVs (anime music videos) on Instagram and Facebook, engaging with other collectors, and diving deeper into the community. As he connected with fellow collectors, he noticed a gap in the Australian trading card community—there was a need for better, more reliable protection for graded cards. This realization led to the creation of Graded Card Guards.
